On a recent episode of The Legal Eagle Podcast, I had the opportunity to discuss the vital HR support services I provide to businesses. We focused on my role as an HR consultant serving companies that are large enough to face HR challenges but not quite big enough to justify a full-time HR department. At Brackett HR, we fill this critical gap by offering on-demand, flexible HR solutions that clients can rely on, whether they need strategic guidance, compliance advice, or urgent crisis management.
During the conversation, I shared the journey of launching my own business in January 2020, right before the global pandemic dramatically changed the landscape. Despite the obstacles, I was fortunate to have supportive early clients, which allowed Brackett HR to grow and thrive. Today, I work with a diverse range of companies, from startups with just a couple of employees to more established businesses with up to 100 staff members. Our services include everything from compensation projects and HR training to acting as a fractional HR partner for overwhelmed in-house teams.
One major topic we delved into was the upcoming regulatory changes in exempt salary thresholds. I explained the impact these changes will have on businesses and emphasized the importance of understanding and correctly classifying employees to remain compliant with the Fair Labor Standards Act. My goal is always to help clients avoid HR pitfalls and make well-informed decisions, balancing business growth with compliance. Through our discussion, I emphasized the value of strong professional relationships and the importance of being a reliable HR resource that companies can trust.
